91 3000gt SL

my friend has a 91 SL i think(the non-turbo one) any way he just got his car like a month or so ago and hes had an over heating problem hes changed the water pump but i wanted to post and see if there are any known issuses with these cars over heating , his fans come on umm so yea

change the thermostat, pretty easy to do, just take off the intake pipe and there's the outside of the thermostat housing. Mine locked up on me two nights ago so i had to pull over in the median in the middle of the highway, lucky for me two of my buddies were following me and they pulled over, one had a tool kit and we just took the thermostat right out. Here is a pic that might help i took from saturday.

after you just pop the housing off (if it has the liquid gasket on the thermostat, it will be a PIA to take off and you'll really have to give some effort to pull it off) , then the thermostat just twists right out and you can just twist a new one in. When putting a new one in, go to NAPA and either get silicon gasket or cut your own gasket material to reseal the new thermostat back in

yea, the camaro is my daily driver :naughty: it holds up well for the mileage
