Engine Diagram

I have installed an Air Intake on my car before, but now I'm trying to start working on the engine and internals. The first thing I've been considering doing is getting higher quality spark plugs, and thicker wires. (Even though my car starts real quick as it is). First off, do you think an upgrade of this sort will help me in the long run? I'm just not sure enough of the benefits such things will offer me. They all talk about power gains and such, is this real? Second, but extremely important, I need an engine diagram and wiring diagram for this car, do you know where I could find one? Of course my friend's Honda, you just pop off the rubber on top and change the Spark plugs, but on my 1997 Grand AM, 2.4 L, I can't find the damn things. Thanks for any help y'all can offer.

actually you don't have wires lol its direct ignition from the coils to the plugs, you have to take of the cover that says "2.4" on it and the plugs will be underneath of it. I would recomment AC Delco Rapid fire plugs, they are very high quality and will give you all the spark you need for the time being. I also look on Ebay and buy a factory shop manual, I have one for each of my cars and they are great, plenty of exploded diagrams of both the 2.4 and the 3100 v6.
