hey, i'm gunna buy this '90 celica st for $500 and it has about 105k mi. on it and the guy says that one of the cylinders is getting no compression. So, my questions are: a) what could the problems be with the motor? and b) what motors will swap easily into this car? i'm looking for some decent hp, not the crappy 100 or so that the stock motor puts out. i heard that that year celica's had problems with losing compression in some cylinders but couldn't find any info on why/how to fix it. any help would be great.

-PEACE!

depends on what enine ur looking for an how much ur willing to spend...if u only got about 2-3k to spend get a 5sfe or 3sge... both will work...personally id go with the 5sfe but you can turbo the 3sge better...
both have about 135 hp

if u have about 4-5 k to spend get an all track engine 3sgte ... 200-255 Hp (model/gen,jdm or usdm), its the best one but most expesive.

ive never heard about a 90 lose compression...i have a 91 st and it has 140K and its running hela good
