Well I'm a little excited...first time I've ever got any kind of smooth reflection without any sanding or polishing after painting. These are the first pics of what will hopefullly be a lowrider with gold daytons, hydro set up and a sound/video system...the back is just screaming 'hook me up'

Nice paint bro. I just started one with a similar color and everything. Why don't you use the AVS 5s that come with the kit they look great on this particular car.

Is there a place to view some of those awesome installs in the signature? Or maybe a possible "How-to" for those?

Yes, the hatch comes already opened. The stock rims are awesome, they suit loads of different cars - no way would I change them but it's up to you!

hey guys...sorry for not getting back any sooner. I'm a med student/father and I'm in the midst of our Nueroscience finals and my son is 4mnths-old (so any fathers out there know how it goes). I haven't logged on in a long time...I'm really glad that you guys like my mod and my system installs. I'm quite flattered (though I'm not sure if I can take the credit).

As for the sig and setups...each of those is from a car I've done with the progress threads on this forum. For now I guess you can search (sorry to sound like a jerk). But I will consolidate all my progress pics pertaining to the sounds installs as soon as I get a little extra time-fyi from left to right it's from an amt supra, amt eclipse, tamiya celica, revell c5-r to street, and the tiny one from a revell itr.

I guess I can use this kit as a how-to example (never really thought about writing one...but I've learned so much from those that I will be honored to give back and write one myself)

For progress on this I've done searching for a good setup and I've come across a couple of sound setups and a couple of hydro setups that I think I can tweek with my imagination and make it look pretty kewl.

Here's the minimal work I've done since last you heard from me. I just added a pearl coat and picked up the rims (no centercaps yet). First time using testors pearl coat and damn that stuff comes out alot heavier than the tamiya color. i live and i learn. no polishing or sanding done yet as I just painted today

nothing glued...just placed for your viewing pleasure. The 'top' that will cover the back part will be where I'll place the pumps and the batteries. Next is the making of a flat screen hanging down off the hatch (when it's up) and adding a ps2

im liking the purple carpet, is it flocking?

spidereddie
05-11-2004, 09:48 PM
not flocking. it's hoppin hydros interior carpet. pretty easy to work with. thin enough to work with yet has enough texture to have that "plush" look. It's just a big piece of fabric really, and styrene glue works great on it.

supermod04
05-11-2004, 11:41 PM
looks great! i wouldnt add reverse style wire wheels to a honda, if your going wire wheels use standard offset. but the system is awsome!!!

Lownslow
05-12-2004, 09:44 AM
mod theres no such thing as standard offset he would have to ruin those nice wheels to make em look std

supermod04
05-12-2004, 09:52 AM
well if you had the tools to redo the gold or chrome them, then it would be worth it, it wouldnt be much just remove the offset. but hey it is looking nice. the ICE is hott, needs more subs! and the purple flake paint is great! i like it

a little progress..still have to touch all this stuff up (excited to show something new). What do you guys think about the pump layout. I'm definitely keeping them, but I'm just not sure if that's the way I want them to look. Battery will obviously be colored and I'll wire the pumps.

cool. I like it, this kit come with those pumps?

spidereddie
05-16-2004, 12:15 AM
Thanks for the comments. And no the kit comes with nothing but an empty back 'trunk' area and a regular backseat. Pumps from hoppin hydros. No pics yet, but I've sanded down and re-gold foiled the back of the pumps (that's where they were attacted to the tree)

If anyone has any reference pics for the hooking up of the pumps..please let me know ...thanks!

spidereddie
05-16-2004, 07:19 AM
thanks to Kasso for his tutorial...I've just finished the PS2. Again I ask, where should I keep it? Controllers are now drying (hand formed from epoxy and an exacto) waiting on some reference pics for hooking up the pumps. And the plasma screen is gonna wait until I can be sure it'll fit once the car has been put together

did some rudimentary plumming for the pumps. Will color the styrene (not sure which color would be best) formed with some patience and a candle
