I have Tamiya's Putty - Basic Type in tube. I decided to fill back side of the Fujimi Civic seats. I applied quite a lot of putty. Now it has been more than 24 hours, but the putty is still soft. And even worse, the front side of seat - the plastic - is all soft :screwy: . Is this OK? When the think will harden again? Sould I remove the putty?
I even thought about viagra :icon16: j/k

Well, if you applied lots of putty, it wil dry very, but very slowly....maybe after 1 week it will still be soft. You shoud have done the majority of the work with plastic card, and THEN putty it up....:)

Yes, now I'm thinking the same. But's it's a little late ... :icon16: What about stripping the putty off and add some plastic filler and fill the rest with putty? Will I ruin the seats 'couse of soft plastic?
Ohh, almost forgot; Thanks for the info!

The putty has a solvent that can melt the styrene plastic. That's so it can bond with the plastic to make a solid join, but yeah, you're not supposed to use too much.
Put those seats aside for at least a week and pray for minimal warping. I'd notr remove the putty, because you may ruin the plastic before you reailze how soft it is... :2cents:

The plastic is not warping too much. The sides are solid. Only the front side of the seat is soft. Which is kinda cool, becouse it's soft just in the right place - realistic 'soft' seats from Fujimi ;)
Anyway, I'll put them on the side and left them for a week or so. Thanks!

while we're on putty.
how well does the tamiya putty (or similar) bond with/onto stuff like milliput?
i'm thinking about building up some body parts and am researching my options.
also, for the guys who make resin parts.
what resin do you use?
is it the two part clear stuff from the art supplies?
also, what do you use for your negatives?
