2003 325i quality issues?

I have a 2003 325i and have encountered several problems with this car:
1) new transmission at 700 miles due to engine noise
2) new alternator at 7000 miles
3) current - blown radiator hose (one week after the new alternator)
The car has low miles (7200 in 1 year, short daily commute). I have always felt the car was sluggish, but chalked that up to taking a step down (from a 328i to a 325i). I had 6 perfect years without any problems with my 328s. Now, with this 1 year old car, I feel like the quality has seriously slipped.
I'm hoping to get out of this car, but am I done with BMWs? Are there any other issues lurking out there with 2003/2004 models?
