Integra engine max boost

what do you guys think the most boost from a turbo a 1992 integra gs-r vtec engine could withstand and what mods would have to be made to withstand that?

If you stay with the stock internals, i would say 5-6 psi. If your looking more more ooomph than that you're gonna want to pull the motor apart and replace the pistons, rods, rod bearings, etc with stronger ones. You'll also have to get a bigger fuel pump (more air going in = more fuel) and probably bigger injectors. It ain't cheap, but if you sell a kidney you might be able to afford it lol.

If you went all out and got all premium stuff and a really good turbo with a boost controller, you could probably run 20 to 25 psi max.

by the way, what is a boost controler, what does it do?

With a stock engine it can probably handle .5 bar (7 psi), intercooled of course. With a lowered compression ratio it can probably handle about 1 bar, (14.5 psi).

If you start to replace pistons, rods and so on... How much do you want? With the right stuff you can go to at least 3-4 bar (43-58 osi), but at that point you have almost replaced your whole engine.

It's not only about pressures, airflow is whats really important.

In any case the fuel system must be able to give the engine the correct amount of fuel.

A boost controller is an expensive thing doing the same work than could be done in a much more cheap and simple way, or in a much better way if an advanced engine control management system was used.
