I'm new to the board and did a search but couldn't find an answer to my question, so here goes. I have a 2001 Blazer 2WD and one of my hub assemblies is making lots of noise. I called around for a new one and nobody seems to have one for a 2WD. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the only difference between the 4WD hub and the 2WD hub the splines for the axles? I've seen pictures of the two and I believe they make only the 4WD hubs because they will work on either vehicle. If I'm wrong somebody please correct me because nobody I've talked to at the parts houses know. Thanks in advance.

Try getting the part numbers for both at a dealer or maybe rockauto.com. That will tell you. I did that as the rear brake pads for my '01 Cobra are not "available" everywhere. Turns out, they're the same as a GT.

correct me if i am wrong but on a 2wd isn't the rotor and hub all as one. so when u do the rotorsu gotta take all the bearings out and when u have it off u just have the spindle there. thats how it was on my 99extreme.

there is no hub assembly, there are two bearings in the rotor that may just need to be greased. take them out and check them before you replace them. they can be expensive.

My 2001 Extreme has the wheel bearing in a hub assembly that costs $479.99 from an auto parts store on special order !!!
