Transfer Case Rebuild

Anybody ever do a rebuild on a 205 transfer case (72 C-10). Mine is leadking bad from around the front output shaft. I'm wondering if I can replace the seal just by taking the front shaft out. I'm trying to do this without taking the case off the truck. ???

you can replace the front seal without taking out the t-case. get the repair manual and it will tell you how to get to the seal.
