the white with green stripe should be a speaker wire, the red with black stripe im thinking is one of your power wires..........

nope the white with green stripe isnt a speaker wire.. i checked all four corners.
thats the only wire left, and i dunno wtf to do about it.. cuz on the decks harness, all thats left is the blue and blue with white stripe. which is for power antenna and amp i think...
white with green stripe what is it???

blue with white stripe goes to antenna or remote connector.
red and black goes to illumination,(service manual says lighting switch)
white with green goes to....
um are you sure its w/grn stripe. Because the service manual doesnt have it in it. Or coded at least. Try hooking it up to the mast
But if it blows a fuse you have to have a wire crossed somewhere because the 2 unused wires have no prwer going to them!!! Im guessing your power is touching your ground or a piece of metal in your car.

NO NO NO NO
Illumination is, you know when you turn you lights on and the clock and ac/heat controls, the light can be adjusted on the wheel on the dash. Thats illumination. What kind of stero is it?
Lets try this differently.
Did you get a diagram when you bought the harness?
Well if you didnt heres what will do.
Keep the stereo speakers hooked up as normal.
Run the black wire to a ground on the chasis.
Run the red wire directly to your battery.
Run the yellow wire to a switched 12+ from the ignition.
Forget about the other crap. You dont have power ant. or illm. isnt worth even hooking up unless you want to ( orangew/white stripe to red/black). If you have a amp hook up the remote wire(says what color on headunit) to your amp or changer, etc.
That should be it. It will be the GHETTO way to hook it up. But since you cant get the connectors worked out this will work.
also check out www.the12volt.com, if you have any more problems, they are usually good about helping.

no the switched is usually the same in all cars. Is there a diagram of the stero colors or wires on the headunit?

do you mean you are splicing the stock connectors.
go to www.panasonic.com click support in upper right hand corner and download your model numbers operating manual.

yeah spliced onto the stock connectors.. i hooked the white with green up to the switched 12+, and it worked.....
cept i think this deck is drawing too much power, the signal lights were going twice as fast... couldnt even turn the car over..
its hooked up to two 6.5"s.. more troubleshooting

white w/green is most likely your constant power. yellow wire on the panasonic. your ignition most likely yellow w/red. it would go to the red wire on your panasonic. ground is black. black w/red is Illumination cap it off, it is not being used.
red w/ green (+) & brown w/black (-) is your right front speaker. that is the gray (+) and gray w/ black (-) off the panasonic.
blue w/green (+) & gray w/black (-) is your left front speaker.
just in case your car has rears:
(not to be confused with above in bold) red w/yellow (+) & brown w/white (-) is your right rear speaker wire. that would be purple & purple w/black off the panasonic
blue w/ yellow (+) & gray w/white (-) is left rear. which would be green & green w/black off the panasonic
if running amp:
use blue w/ white wire from the panasonic to the amp.
any other wire not being used, cap off and be done.
i asked jer (a MECP cert. 7 yr installer) :worshippy

there wasnt a yellow with red though... that was my problem..
i think the previous owner relocated it for alarm
i ran the +12 volt battery wire to white with blue stripe
and the +12 volt ignition wire to white with green
