Try Cutting back on the crap you dont need. I dont know you so I dont no if your one of those people that always needs to have something just because it looks cool, I know I am, but yea, if you can hold back on buying "the extra's" you'll have more money. and maybe see if there is a different system you can get on for your bills, such as if you have satelite, cut back on the channels you dont need, if you have a phone bill, cut back on the long distance crap, or see if you can get on a different plan, its the small things that make a big difference.

I hear ya.Been married 17 years, could have written your post myself.Your bills sound a bit high,I'm running a mortgage and home improvement loans on less than that, but I'm still putting in 2 for one against her and only spending about one in ten.
My advice...live with it,or don't even consider getting hitched. It's going to cost me a shitload of cash and heartache to back out of this dead end street.

I've been with the same woman for going on 7 years. The way we've always worked it is, my money is my money, your money is your money. If she needs help, I'll help. And vice-versa. We split the bills 50-50. There are no arguements over the ten bucks I spent on magazines, or the shoes that she bought.
I'll keep it that way as long as I can....
I agree with Sony to an extent. There has to be something to cut back on, just don't cut too much that you feel you're working for nothing.
Let me guess..... it's the credit cards that kill you, huh? Maybe look into debt consolidation.

Life is terrible isn't it.

I must be one of the only people in the world without a credit card  Or any finance obligations for that matter. I know dozens of people whose paycheck is three quarters gone before they even have a chance to spend it, from hire-purchase payments, credit card payments, car payments, insurance etc. Quite sad really...
You probably already realise this, but in case you dont - do NOT buy depreciating things on credit :disappoin its a stupid thing to do.

My wife and I decided that we split the bills 50-50. She used to make more money than me and had a lot more money to spend. Now I make way more money than she does and she hates it. But that is what we decided. If we want something we just buy it. As long as the bills get paid I don't care.

Remember Arnold's advice:
STOP WHINING!
And:
WHO SAID YOU COULD EAT MY COOKIES?!
 (Sorry, inside joke between me & him)
Trying to save money with California's high rents is futile. Try cutting down on the 100 octane gas, Starbucks, cut the cell phone plan down to a minimum, and bag a lunch for work. Just buying a 24 pack of Pepsi at WalMart & bringing your own drinks in will shave $2 a day off your bills (if you usually buy the big drink at a fast food restaurant).
