The model was a little dusty when I took pics, I hadn't touched it for awhile. The rear window trim needs BMF, the bumpers need alclad II sprayed on them because they were chromed badly. I also molded the botom half of the face of the car to the body with putty so that there would be no panel line. IMO it looks better. I put a lot of primer paint and clear then sanded from 3600 to 12000. Rubbed out with Novus and BMF polish. Im just practicing with a lot of compounds and stuff lately to see which one works best for me. This is probably my favorite car of all time. I don't know I just really like it. I hope you do to.

BTW I haven't been here for so long because all I do is play Socom II Us Navy Seals online. Yesterday I played it for 12 Hours from 2 pm to 2am.
Its really addicting and I'm crazy about it. :iceslolan  :grinno: :loser:

Nope, but I know what your talking about. I have a book that has the top painted in matte black color. If the top was seperated from the model, or if it atleast had a panel line to mask off I probably would have done it.

You know what, I tried blackwashing that grill but it kept getting all messed up! I couldn't get it to look right so I just gave up on it. Anybody have any suggestions to getting the lines in the grill black.

Oh yeah, I didn't know you were talking about the hood. But I guess Ill just paint it flat black. It would be a lot easier too. I thought you were talking about the roof, my mistake. :icon16:

One more thing, do you guys think I should put those big Hemi decals or no.

I'm also happy to be back, but I might get a little delayed with this project. I might have to start working on it again maybe in June.

Welcome back with a bullet of a model. The 'Cuda owns. It was 'THE' major blast when I was in high school. Great to see it on AF. I vote NO to the HEMI decals. What kit are you building? Love the color.

You have to check out the mopar search engine (http://www.bombcar.com/cuda/) :) <- LINKY, LINKY.

Keep up the great work.

Ok, then I guess I won't paint the grill. It would look a little more detailed though.

Hey, the link isn't working. Could you make another. The hood is in Brake Fluid right now, probably will be painted matte black tommorow.

I was thinking about putting alclad on today but I feel so lazy.

I just blackwashed a grill on my 69 charger. it was pretty easy. i poured so black paint in a jar, and thinned it down to water. then when it was brushed on, it would fill the little holes, and leaving the lines chrome, gave it the realistic depth, then i wipped the front off with a towel. looks good

I'm not allowed to paint anything until Sunday. Just because we have 12 visitors. :disappoin

On Sunday I'm going to paint the hood flat black and I might be able to Alclad the bumpers.

Until then! :banghead:

if you are going to paint the hood flat black most of the cudas that have that have the lip or spoialer on the back also painted flat black.

A small update, I just sprayed the bumpers. It came out okay, I need a real airbrush though. This cheap thing I'm using isn't giving me the results I really want.

Do any of you guys have any good websites for airbrushes and stuff.
BTW, pics were resised with paint, I don't have any good programs on this new computerfor resising right now.
Anyways, here are da pics!

Edit: There is dust on the car, I just leave it there for long periods of time. While I was painting the hood Modelmasters racing orange the paint was all flat. Then when I put clear on it all CRACKED!!! :banghead:

Do you guys know of painting model masters over TAMIYA primer caused this?

If you need a new hood I have a gloss black one, it never got used because we had the blower etc sticking out of the front.
It's nice and shiny so might suit you if you're doing the top black.

Thanks anyways. I've decided to paint it orange. I just need to strip the paint off. The interior has been painted flat black and flocking has been done to the floor. I'm finished painting the dashboard and steering wheel. I just need to paint the roll bars and the seats. I'll take pics of the interior when it is 100% done. Until then!
