does anyone know where the coolant sensor is on my 97...i have the maintainence books for a 94 camaro which has all diagrams of where things are and how to fix them...but the sensor for my 97 is not where the book says the sensor should be (for a 94)
the low coolant light is annoying me--my car is up to par with coolant, but the sensor is screwy, thanks

My fiancé’s 95 Formula had the same problem. The low coolant light was on but the fluid level was up. The sensor should be located on the radiator about 2 inches below the radiator cap. It's kinda hard to see you might have to take the battery out to get to it. My suggestion is to just un-plug the thing and regularly check your coolant level, that way you don't have to drain your radiator to change the sensor. The check engine light doesn't come on and your low level light goes out if you un-plug it.

Huh that's odd... I'll take a look on my dad's 97 SS tomorrow and see if I can spot the sensor. The one on my 96 SS is 2 inches below the radiator cap.

Revised::::

I took a look at my Dad's 97 SS and the sensor is 2 inches below the radiator cap. So I think you might have a aftermarket radiator in your car or maybe the sensor is on the other side.
