get a fuel controller and possibly some bigger injectors, like 450cc (the stock injectors from a GST or GSX), that will help with power and also make running the nitrous safer... for bigger changes, you could get an aluminum intake manifold and you can port and polish the head, do cams, valves and spings! that will allow more flow thru the engine and you would have the potenial with proper tuning to be quite a bit faster... then if you build the bottom end and plan to just run all motor, you can raise the compression and get a lot of power out of that motor!! i have seen it happen, a friend of mine has an all motor 98 GS that runs 14.1 w/o nitrous... but there is a lot of work into his motor!

oh and for the auto tranny... you could get a performance stall/torque converter and a shift kit, + with some power from the motor you could be pretty damn close to that of a manual tranny!

start with adjustable cam gears, ... My friends gs was like this, and after he installed the cam gears, and tuned it right, the improvement was awsome!!! I dont think that you have to go so far f.e. porting the head... thats too crazy for stock gs.... IMO My friend has CAI, AEM cam gears, Wires, plugs, and actually some headwork but not porting, and he has high compression, + uses race gas now, soon we will go to the track, than I will tell you his times, no nos either...

If you wanna be serious, get a 5 speed tranny, and go with what what eclipserst said... but it will be a lot of work and money!!! But if you get your N/A to run faster than a lightly moddet GST/X thats worth it
