I'm not sure if this is the right sub-forum to ask their question, but anyway, what Honda/Acura engine puts out the most HP of any Honda/Acura engine ever built? (When answering please make sure to specify how much HP the engine does put out, I really want to know)

depends are we talking about any engine of v-6 or inline 4. the most out of all (stock) would be teh 280hp nsx engine i think.

ive seen a supercharged civic wit 900plus hp but thats built up but i would have to say the nsx is the most powerful one stock and they top out at like 160 im guessing depends on the year

Very well, you guys answered my question so i'll answer yours. Soon my grandma is supposed to be coming into some heavy money, i'm going to convince her to put what she has left over from paying off her house and all that other bs (her car, my aunt's car, my truck, god knows what else) to put into a certificate of deposit so she'll have some money coming to her each month and she won't spend it all at one time (because if my aunt had her way, it would get spent, every last dime). I'm not talking about chunk change here guys, i'm talking about three hundred grand she's supposed to get. Also, she has a '96 Honda Accord, she's gonna buy herself a new car and pass down the Accord to me, I saw this is a great opportunity to trick the car out once I got the chance, so right now i'm looking for all the ways I can. Honestly though, I want the car to run as fast as it possibly can, not just be tuned up and be about twice as fast as it was with some performance upgrades, I have a need for speed that's gotta be met. There's your answer my friends

I am well aware of both thos facts whtteg, however, I am no specialist at applying performance upgrades nor are there many performance places to go to here in my hometown of Mobile (probably why all the Honda Civics here sound like shit, all they do is put on a new tail pipe "Ooh aah, now my car is pimpin'!"). Just trying to kill two birds with one stone man. If it doesn't fit, i'll try other engines that will, maybe get what performance upgrades applied that I can around here. There are some performance shops, but nothing that has NOS, Turbochargers, and Superchargers, none of that good stuff.

You want the fastest 96 accord possible
No shops in your area do blower/turbos/nitrous
Therefore you have decided to put an NSX engine in your 96 accord


Do you realize how idiotic this sounds on paper? If no shops locally can do something as basic as power adders, what the hell makes you think that they or anyone else can dump a RWD NSX motor into your accord? Stop living a pipe dream, it's never going to happen.

Just because I can't get it done here doesn't mean I can't get it done somewhere else, I don't live very far from Florida at all and i'm sure they've got a shitload of places in Miami. Might also be some in Texas.

The car ain't mine yet. I could do that though eventually...depends on how much more HP I could get out of a V6 Accord engine. I'd rather see if the NSX engine would fit, if it doesn't, then i'll just go with the option to which you've just presented, that was going to be my last resort if I couldn't get something more powerful under the hood (mind you that it doesn't have to be the NSX, if the NSX doesn't fit i'm gonna try and get something that is like in the top 5 of Honda's strongest engines). We figured she'd be puttin' in about a hundred grand so she should be getting about seventy-five grand per month a year after she puts in it because it has to build up and collect interest. While it sounds strange, i'd rather put a NSX engine in her Accord, I consider it a family heirloom. She's had that car since I was 9 years old, so I guess you could say i'm bit attached to old "Black Beauty" as she calls it.

This presents quite a problem, but isn't that modifiable on an engine? I figure if you can modify an engine from an automatic to a standard, than this shouldn't be much different. Then again it's just a theory

I honestly don't think there would be anything in the world that I could do to make you guys understand how I feel in that car. When i'm driving it, it's like I feel a cloak of security over me, a sense of safety. Yeah I know that the secure feeling would probably be there until I crashed the damn thing and died, but as I said it's difficult to explain. And i'm not toying with it, toying would be letting some half-assed mechanic around here try to soup it up and I sure as hell ain't takin' that chance with it. I just feel if one is going to ride in something that's got a shitload of power, it's best that they ride in something they feel most comfortable and safe in.

Shouldn't you be getting technical in this specific forum instead of getting a shop to do it? Theres not a lot of technical stuff to figure out when you just pay someone to do it for you.

Just get a damn H22a Type-S (220hp), get it put in and call it a day.

actually, since you have the whole shitoad of money thing backing you, call up hasport, get'em to fab up some k-series mounts for you, have a shop swap a k20 into the car, build the engine and boost it, and i figure that'll be about as fast as you can handle.

The NSX Motor will not fit in your accord with that budget. I don't care how much money your grandma's givin ya, its not enough.

The best motor swap for your accord is in fact, NOT the V6.

Your best option is an H22A or F20B

you can swap in the 1997 accord v6 2.7L engine and turbo charge it.

Or a 2003 accord v6. 240 HP. Slap a turbo on with a lot of head work and engine and bam: 500hp. I'm not trying to diss you but a nsx engine in a accord would cost such a ridiculous amount of money that you might as well buy a porsche 911. Would go a lot faster than you accord.....

Even if the car has a lot of hp, who the fuck cares.. it's still going to be a big boring front wheel drive sedan. Sell the Accord and take all that money and buy a rear wheel drive sports car, then go from there. It will cost less in the long run and be 10x more fun. Well aside from all the talk of dropping an NSX engine into an accord, etc. etc, that is definitely NOT the way a CD works... Think about it logically for a second, you put a hundred grand in the bank, let it build interest for one year, even at 5 percent interest (about the most I've EVER gotten on my CD, and the rates are even lower right now) at the end of that year you'd only have 5000 more dollars. Are you seriously thinking that just because you allowed the bank to hold your money for one year without touching it that they're gonna give you back 75,000 dollars a month? Or even 75,000 dollars a year? After 2 payments to you the bank would be in the hole, and last time I checked banks were in the business of making money, not giving it away...Man if I could make that kind of money off the bank I wouldnt even need to work.

I put in 200 bucks around January, the bitch at the bank told my Grandma (I am led to believe I couldn't sign for it since i'm a minor, that could also be bullshit i've been fed) that i'd get 180 of it back after a year. Apparently I been fucked...

Suburbs? Not this part of Alabama man. Mobile, Prichard, and 8 Mile are back-to-back and filled with crime. The reason nobody has Porches, Feraris, Escalades, BMWs, and those kinds of rides is because they get boosted so easily. Yeah, even though it's the dirty south there are some pretty rich fuckers around. There's this back road on the waterfront near where I live, huge three story houses, all of 'em got normal cars. No Porches, nothin' fancy because they know anybody in the neighborhoods surrounding would steal 'em without hesitation. Everything else is pretty much one stories and project homes unless you head out to Daphne or Theodore.

Yes I know that it takes alot of work to make a 500hp
turbocharged car. But someone who wants to potentially
put a NSX engine in an accord can't really know that
much about cars (no offense Eye Of Apocalypse). But to
explain the steps neccesary to turbo charge an accord
would kinda be a waste of time given he had would have
no idea as to what I am talking about. I was merely suggesting
a route that would be slightly more practical than putting
a NSX engine in an accord. So before you go calling someone
a moron you should stop and take in the intent and purpose
of a post rather than merely trying to insult people.


Eye Of Apocalypse, you could turbo charge your accord. Not the best
car to turbo but if you are serious it could be done. Hell, if you did
it I would be the first one to shake you hand b/c I've never seen
a turbo'ed accord.

honestly not joking around. i dunno if this was established but u should buy urself a decent house or condo or somethin. if i could i would blow all my money on car too. but its just not realistic. cars are a big part of my life but u need other to things to live besides cars. if ur serious about cars and u want a fast honda. get urself something reliable and in good shape. get like a 96-00 Civic Coupe or H/B or get a 94-01 Intgera GS-R. maybe a prelude. i love accords but they were never meant to go fast.
