Integra

Well, I just had some guy in an Integra race me. I wasn't even going to race him but he kept riding my ass then he got next to me at the stoplight and took off. So, he had a headstart and I took off after him, my tires grabbed second and that is when I passed him like he was standing still. Hit third and I was about 2 car lengths in front of him. This is when I pulled in front of him and slowed down for the next redlight. I know he was trying his hardest because I heard his engine when I passed him. He was also the only one in his car, whereas I had a passenger. It was probably only an LS Integra but if I can beat an LS like that I can beat a GSR too, just not by so much. I also didn't get a very good shift into second because I bounced off the rev limiter. I don't know what year Integra it was, it had the round headlights like my tiburon (a 2001). He had an exhaust, maybe a CAI as well. All I have is an exhaust and I took the resonator off of my intake. I am thinking about instead of getting a CAI or short-ram, I am just going to take the air box off and stick a cone filter on the factory hose. Effectively it is the same as a short-ram. I figure I am probably making about 10 HP over factory. This was only my second race in this car, and my first race since I modified it. The first time I raced was when my car was completely stock and it was against an Eclipse GS on the highway from a 50 MPH start. I beat him pretty good too, but it was a much closer race until I hit about 110. I know some of you don't condone street racing, as you call it, but it makes me feel good to know what my car is really capable of. All the shit that people talk about Hyundai and the Tiburon, it makes me feel good that I only paid a fraction of the cost for mine and it out-performs them and has an awesome warranty too. I really do wish there was a track nearby that has a category for racing that the tib would fit in. There is a track nearby, but the only open-class races they have are called U-car. Which stands for, U bring the car. However, the regulations state it must be a front-wheel drive AMERICAN car, 1985 or newer. Well, that sucks because I know my car will out perform most of these cars. They have to be pretty much stock, can't be turbocharged, supercharged, or nitrous. I am not sure if your car has a factory turbo or supercharger if it is eligible. The only race I can do is where you and a friend pay $20 each and you can race one lap around the track against your buddy. That is cool too, but $20 for one lap is expensive. Yeah, it could be alot more expensive to race on the street if I was to get a ticket or even worse hit something or someone and hurt or kill myself or someone else. I do use judgement though, and only race if there are no other cars in the way. Today, for example, there were no cars on the stretch of road we raced on. If a car appears or turns onto the road, I will ALWAYS abort the race rather then try and swerve around them and keep racing. So, maybe one day I will grow up and decide not to race on the road at all. I don't think so, though, because I get it from my Dad who I have been in the car with when he raced his friends in a friendly backroad race (we lived in the sticks with 60MPH curvy backroads and no traffic.) I consider myself a pretty capable driver and would love to be able to afford a race-only car that I could compete in some SCCA club races in. Maybe in a few years, I will be able to. I want to try my hand at rally-racing. I think the tib, with the proper suspension and tires would make a great front-drive rally car. It would need a limited-slip differential, though. I have already started to save-up to take the SCCA license course. It is three days and I think it is about $500. So, for now I will try to limit my street racing. If someone wants to try me on an open road, I am too hot-headed for that. That's the gist of it all.

quitttea long ass story, but anyway nice beat. Just watch out for cars like that next time, ultra customized Integ's can smoke customized tibs just about anytime.

an ultra customized geo metro can smoke a viper too.

unless you were meaning there are a lot more extreme integras than tibs.

sort of what I ment, basicly though what I ment was that people usualy go a bit more extreme with allready high horsepower cars like that.

An Integra is not a high-horsepower car. The LS has the same amount of power as a tib. I know your just a kid who dreams of driving a car, but if you don't know what you're talking about and you post stupid shit like this it makes you look like a complete idiot. I am sure there are plenty of Integra GSR's and Type-R's that can beat my car. However, there are some tibs out there that can smoke those same Integras. The Tiburon is just as capable as an Integra and can produce just as much horsepower. Also, the really modified Integras have completely different engines in them that you normally can't even get in the US. If I was to swap a different motor into my car, yeah I could make a shit load of horsepower too. It isn't all about horsepower either, you have to remember that the driver has alot to do with who wins the race. If I race a car that has more horsepower and is faster but the driver sucks, there is a good chance I can beat him as long as his car is not a Supra or something that is in a completely different league than my car. As my dad used to say, "Keep your mouth shut and your ears open and you just might learn something."
