my buddy is lowering his 97 probe what would be the best way to go about this .... what are some lowering kits that will drop about 2 inches and what about cutting the springs could this work too?

i would say the best way to lower it 2 inches is arospeed or dropzone lowering springs/coilovers. if he gets coilovers, it can be however low he wants it. if u cut the springs, u have shorter springs, but theyre still stock. it wont help you as much as the 100 bucks or so for some nice springs. otherwise, you could also heat up the coils so they get closer together, but that is just if you dont want to spend money and get much better performance. i would reccomend going on ebay or wherever you want and gettin some arospeed or dropzone springs, dont get eibach, they dont lower as much and are way too expensive.

i would definately stick with the ones i mentioned b4. other brands are too expensive, or cheaply made. its your choice if u want to pay a lot for brand name or get some pretty good quality springs for cheap, even if theyre not brand name.

i got eibach springs on my 93 probe and i dropped it an inch and a half and the thing sticks to the ground. it is worth the extra money if u want some good suspension.

Don't cut the springs...i had a friend who cut the springs and it provides for an extra bumpy ride. any little bump in the rode you will feel.
