cv axle assembly R&R

Any tips on removing a cv axle assembly out of a 93 accord ex? Started last nite but got hung up on lower control arm connection to ball joint. It seems I meet need a puller for this fitting. Also don't want to remove more than needed....I am replacing axle and both inner and outer joints at same time as a unit. Any help appreciated greatly........Later :smile:

I used a puller on my first replace, but on my second I found that giving the arm itself a good whacking will release it. I just used a brass rod and a 2 pound hammer. Someone will probably say that's a bad thing to do, but it worked fine for me and I didn't have hassle with a damn puller and the little flanges that you're supposed to use on the lower control arm.

Yeah pullers are cheap to rent form like Pep Boys if you don't have access to one already.
