good for you. if you have an urge to light up, then pop in a dip instead. yeah, they are both gross habits.

Congrats Kev and keep it up I know I felt much better after about a month off the nicotine (I quit for almost a year). Food even tasted better.

I think I'd rather smoke than dip. You'll get some nasty side effects quick from dipping.

Congrats naki, and good luck.

Maybe it's a regional term, but what is dipping?

Cl0ak
04-23-2004, 04:57 PM
Some people call it snuff (although thats more of an older term for what you would sniff) its basically loose cut tobacco that you put in your mouth sort of like chewing tobacco but you don't chew it. Its called dip because you take your fingers, reach in the tin, and take a dip of it, stick it wherever you please and start spittin.

Hey, congrates naki. I only wish i had the willpower. Did you notice thogh, that for the first few days after quitting, you caughed up a LOT of stuff, then just stopped?

taranaki

Not really,Steel.I just stopped buying them and lighting them, the nicotine patches do the rest.

Good for you. If you get the craving, just look up a 'net pic of a diseased lung or something.

Just look at what those smokes did to my hair.........

you should give up drinking petrol,Oz.

1 x packet = $10 approx. 5-6 packets a week is $50-60. 1 full tank of petrol (around 450kms city cycle) is $45 and last about a week.

Australia/New Zealand tax the bejayzuss out of smokers, average price a a pack of smokes is US$6.50-$7.

They're also pretty damn good at taxing the crap out of gas as well.

man, that is awesome that you're quitting like that. If you need motivation, I did some presentations back in high school, I'm sure I could get them to let me borrow the pig lung that we had. Yes, you heard right. The organization i was in (mostly a mentor thing for little kids) had a pig lung that was simulated to be in the condition of a heavy smoker (a little less than a pack a day) for 20 years. The thing smelled like shit, not cuz it was a pig lung, but because of the tar in it. It had a nice fat white tumor on it, and had a few small holes. We had a small set up to hook it up to a foot pump, inflate it, and watch it deflate. the thing sounded awful cuz it had small holes in it due to it pretty much decaying. it was also pretty much jet black, not a nice pink color like it should be. yeah... i'll make a vid of the presentation and send it to ya if ya like.

i'm surprised they let phillip morris sell tobacco, killing people and all. I think weed and ecstacy probably kills less than cigarettes.

*not that I do either* but shows the hipocrisy of the government
