I was looking around walmart with my Fience tonight and came across something i wanted to share with you guys. I don't make it to the arts and crafts section alot so if any of you guys already use this method then this is not for you. I've never been pleased with my outcome using flocking so when i really want to carpet the interior i'm gonna use these sheets of felt with adhesive backing.

I was only able to find the black, white, and red. My grandmother tells me they make more. Walmart had many colors of very thin felt but just these that are self adhesive.
I started to carpet my Revell Snaptite Expedition to see how i would like it.
First i trimmed the felt to fit the cargo area of the Exp.

Then just peel off the backing to the adhesive side and apply as needed. The adhesive is not to tacky, it's just tacky enough so you can pull up and reapply and it will still hold.

It applies very easily, took me a total of 3 minutes. It actually holds a curve very well too. Here is what the finished cargo area looks like with the sides on.

What do you guys think. The paks come with 1 9x12 sheet and I think was $ .84 a pack. I would love a grey and a tan color but you can't always get what you want.

i also saw how you could use elmers white glue and spread it on, an then cover it with baking soda, and then paint. i am not sure about results.

I have had about the same luck with the baking soda method as i have with flocking. It turns out nice i just don't like this method.

I've never seen suede paint, can it be airbrushed?
after it dries does it look more like leather or like carpet?

after seeing this, I went out today and bought some as well. I have to say I like it. But it is limited. It's thick, but that's not really an issue for doing floors, as you hide the edges up against door panels anyway. But it is too thick to use on parcel shelves in most cases.
Ya win some, ya lose some. For $1.50 CAD, I'm happy.

Could you use this where the pedals are? That would look sweet. I'm gonna see if they have this in yellow for my 350Z.
