99' Grand-Am GT...two problems...
Front left wheel shakes/makes a loud noise when turning right at high speeds...also does it when sitting still if you cut the wheel hard. I pulled the wheel off and put it back on, made it tighter than before and the noise subsided for a period of time. Initially I thought the rim could have been loose. By deduction, it's in the braking and/or bearing system. So, I am looking to replace the wheel bearings but don't know how. Are there any books/websites etc. on how to do it? I am mechanically inclined, but just am not familiar with the Pontiacs and ABS systems...
Second problem, PW on drivers side is not working. Any suggestions on how to remove the panel and get to the switch to test and/or replace? I know they are buggers on all vehicles and I expect this to be no exception...looking for some insider help here..
Thanks,
Rick

before you do this, i would take your tire and have it balanced. this could be the problem and its easy to fix.

Could even be a CV joint. I had one car that had a similar problem, and it was a lower ball joint. First time I ran into ABS when bulling the front end apart, I just had to wing it. Just study everything as I took it off. I hear the ABS pick up can be very delicate though, so be careful. Good luck. Happy repairs.

lift the car up so the wheel with the suspected bad bearing is off the ground, hold the wheel by the top and bottom and see if it wiggles, it it does, then the bearing is bad.

Hi all,
It was the tire being out of balance... Finally got in into the shop and they had to balance it twice on some special machine...cost $15 but saved me a lot of headache!
Thanks for the input!
