Second Part: Help! Please Again

Ok, here's progress. I tested some simple things. The car cranks with the starting fluid and runs until it burns out. However, one time the car actually cranked and would run. I drove it a little to make sure everything was ok. When I parked it and turned it off, it went back to the same ol rararrrarrarr. Does this mean that the pump is just on the brink of failing completely, or is there a possibility that it's a fuel pump relay (located right under the hood right?)? I will change the filter, but the filter by itself wouldn't have the same effect right? Also, where exactly is the fuel filter on an eclipse. I know where the pump is but I haven't even had a chance to look for the filter. Thanks

yes the filter can have a big affect on the car... i'd say check that right away! what year is your car... so we know where to tell you to check!

accessible best from under the car or by taking out the battery and working from the top. Is it under the battery or on the frame under the car?

If it is the same as a GS-t have fun. You have to remove the battery and the mounting plate the battery sits on. The fuel filter is bolted to the firewall. You will do best to get it from the top (at least that's how I did it). If it is anything like the one I did the fittings are a BITCH to break loose. Be careful with the fittings, if I remember correctly the bottom one is a hardline and the top one is a softline. So if you remove the top fitting first be careful you don't snap the hardline while you are busting you knuckles trying to get it off. All in all, I think it took about an hour or so to do it. Enjoy. no its not... the turbo and non turbo cars are totally different, opposite side of the car!

It wouldn't be like the gst would it. I thought that the engines and everything else was different for the gst?

I know that the motors are different but I thought maybe they piped in the fuel the same way. Anyhow....if you look above EclipseRST said that it is on the other side. So I would look on the driver's side of the firewall (since mine is on the passinger's side)

Fuel filter on a NT 96+ is under the passenger side near the rear wheel (or was it the front) I don't remember.
On a 95 NT it is bolted to the firewall.
