I just bought my first Corvette and it needs a little interior work done. First, The passenger door panel keeps poping loose. Can anyone tell me how or what fastens the panels? Second, there is broken plastic pieces where the widow defogers attach (inside the door), causing them to pop out. Is there replacement strips that go in the doors panel for the screws to fasten to? Third, the storage compartments both have broken plastic where the locks are supposed to latch and broken hinges...any suggestions on how to fix or replace? There is a lot of cracked plastic pieces especially in the rear, any suggestions for glue or bonding interior parts? Finally, the carpet in the trunk is bad, can anyone suggest a good carpet dye or know where I can get some inexpensive replacements (carmine)? Thanks

Congradulations on your purchase, and welcome to the world of "nothing's cheap". There are many aftermarket corvette suppliers
like www.ecklers.com and www.corvetteamerica.com. I used the later
to replace the interior on my 85. It's not cheap, but the carpet was
molded from factory templates and it went in quite easily.
As for the interior plastic parts, those are quite hard to find, but
go to these web sites and register for a catalog (Eckler has a very comprehensive collection of parts). Your other alternative
would be bone yard searches and with a car this old, used parts aren't
the best option.
Good luck, and enjoy the experience,
