overpaying?

ok i've been talking to lot of ppl lately and a bunch have told me that paying about 2500 for b16 swap everything needed Y1LSD tranny all that stuff is "fucking retarted" now not everyone says this but heres my deal to my fellow 4 genners

Find me this awesome cheap good running Y1LSD tranny b16 with mounts all that cheaper i was told 1500 it can be done you give me a hook up i'll send some of the saved $$ your way. no joke.

so what is the best you can do with good running 30k mile b16a SIR OBO Y1LSD tranny i'll give you my pinky if you get me a Y2LSD lol . hasport street mounts linkage and A/C bracket?

i wont buy a motor from ebay i've talked to few of the companys there fucking shady is the only way to describe them. I'll deal with shops importers or ppl not ebay with a motor though they dont has # on the block sometimes due to ware i was told :eek7:

Y2LSD was nearly same as Y1 just diff final drive i read it was in the EDM cars with b16s.

Ive bought from them. Personally I didnt like them, very shady and the engine i bought threw a rod within 6 months. I dont drive like an ass and i do take care of the engine. I just think that that engine had a lot more than "around 35K miles" on it. What happened was the oil pump went... No oil light or CEL (i dont think that would come on anyway). I was unaware till it was too late. Then i bought from H-motors. When it got to my house, i dissasembled it and it looked like new internally. A lot better condition than the last one was. Im sure people have gotten motors from osaka that work out great though. Personally, I just think your more likely to get a better condition engine from h-motors or nippon or something. Thats just been my experience.

I'd say good luck for under $1500, I deal with wholesale, and for a reliable GOOD B16 that's been tested and stuff you are looking at $1000, maybe $900 on a very good day, then about $400 for mounts, $150 for shift linkage, prolly andother $100-$200 for axles (if you need them), then you have labor on top of that (unless you are installing it yourself). So lets recap - at the minimum on the best day would be $1600+shipping+labor, on a normal day about $1850+shipping+labor, and on a bad day over $2000+shipping+labor.

$2500 is not a bad price to shoot for if that's mounts, shift linkage, motor, transmission, ecu and all that good stuff.... also might want to add to the cost, new timing belt, water pump, oil pump, have the alternator rebuilt, put on some new gaskets... just little things that do make a difference.

www.importautosalvage.com contact them, thats where we got a b16 with a y1 tranny. we got it with factory mounts but only paid 1250. then hit up ebay for the mounts.....u could also buy a front clip from them for about 2100.

Here's a guy in Ontario thats selling everything you need for the swap + for $2750cdn. Thats 2,021.32 USD.
