Monsoon stereo display is gone

Hi,
My Monsoon stereo in my 99 Grand Prix no longer has a display. It seems the light is just out as I can see the display when the sun is shining on it.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this without spending the $175. at a stereo repair shop?
