im trying to do a 5 lug conversion but im having problem finding rear hubs. Will 300zx rear hubs work on a non ABS s14 chassis 240?

They bolt on to all of the suspension links but you have to change the Shock from a Post type to _____ (i forgot the name of it) i dunno how easy that would be but the JIC coils bracket is bolted on not welded like most of the others from what i can tell. Ive Also heard something about the Seals On the 240's Axles being redundant so you can take em off or something like that

the guys on Zilvia.net know... i havent been on there in awhile since they dont take AOL email adresses.

300ZX rear hubs will work, also Q45, thats what I used, prety easy unlike what they say, I did it at home, BUT!! remember that there is a small rubber cone part that goes to the bottom mounting of the 300ZX/ Q45 hub, without this, it will not work. Costs about $10 at the dealer, part #40173-33P00. very hard to pull off even at the yard, they might not give it to you. I tried and couldn't get it out so I exchanged my 240SX bottom peice for the Q45s' if you have the $$$$$ buy a new one.
The e-brake might be tricky, you will have to get 300ZX cables, and mate them to your 240SX as it is longer than the ZX.
The minimum wheel size is 17", any smaller and the calipers will scrape. And you will also need the 300ZX brake to body lines, sold as kits by many companies.
Also you might want to remove the dust shield if you ever want to upgrade to VR4 or SupraTT rotors, but usually this is just for show. I took mine off, took some hard cutting and a bunch of cuts and bruises. (not needed)

Oh, I also forgot, you will have to change to fork type struts, the bottom pieces are diff (buy coil overs and ask them to swap out the bottom sleeve for the 300ZX, they should do it). Funny the forks dont line up with the seat, they're about 45 degrees off, I think it is cause I took Q45 struts which seat in the trunk and are shorter, unlike the 300ZX, so I will redrill some holes and fit them as soon as I remove this J30 LSD. (anyone wants to buy one????)
Don't worry I am broke and can't afford coilovers so for now I am going to use the Q45 struts. NOT A VERY GOOD IDEA BY THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!! the diff rates in the springs and struts could cause some problems at high speeds so don't do it.
If you need further assistance check "importnut.net" or "nissanperformancemag.com" project S14.

sounds like a lot of trouble to use 300zx hubs... i thought it would be cheaper to get them from a junkyard but sounds like it would be easier and more economical to get new 240sx SE hubs... thanks for all the great responses!

Yup thats the easy way out, but my assumption was that you were going with the two piston setup from the ZX, if so, you will be forced to use the ZX Hub or loose you e-brake and will still have to remove the dust shield from the 240 rear hub.
If no 2 pot ZX rear brakes, then just use the 240sx SE rear, way simpler.
