variable valve timing?

hey i was just wondering if Mitsubishi put out anything like the honda v-tec or toyotas vvti... anything like that going on with any of the mits. engines? i have not heard or read anything so i was just curious

no, but hyundai came out with their continous veritable valve timing delta engien this year =)

yes Mitsu has MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control)

I'm probably wrong, but the only car I've heard of with Mitsu VVT is the FTO.

i know either the 4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder in the new eclipse's have MIVEC engines in them. Maybe both, but at least one of them do, for sure. I think the Galants have them as well.

I think all the current Mitsu's have MIVEC. I drove a Lancer RalliArt with MIVEC the other day, its nice and smooth.

does it work the same way as vtec and vvti...extra valves more air in at a certain RPM and such? or is it different..i mean it is prollya lil different but like the same basic idea
