Civic Meet, May 22, 2004....

it's about that time of the year again. this year it will be May 22...which IS NOT mother's day. i'd like to shout out a thanks to all those who said "screw mom this year" and showed up anyway :grinno:

i do not have all the specifics at hand as the owner of the shop is out of town. however, i can say it'll be pretty much like last year. can expect the same rep's...give or take a couple.

there are 2 matters that need to be discussed:

1) does everybody want to eat at the same pizza place sat night? i already have steph's "yes" marked down :biggrin:

2) track. yes or no? i don't mind, but i'm not driving 10hrs just to get here in the first place. it's approx. 80mi to the track, approx. 1.5-2hrs driving time each way. i want everybody to express their opinions on this.

i can suggest a plan b. last year ci5ic wanted to drive down to cali, pretty much just so he can say he went all the way down to cali. the CA/OR boarder is 30mi and not thru a curvy mtn...would be a much quicker trip. the only problem, ask GTA about the tiny ass town. it's a main road maybe 4 blocks long. so pretty much the value of going to that place is being able to say you went down to cali. if you're coming up from cali i dunno how exciting that would be :rofl:

Definately will be there. Been planning it for months and I'm glad its the 22nd and not the 15th, cuz that's when my prom is. I can speak for Josh also and he is excited and unless something happens to mine and his cars, I expect both of us 4g4d'ers to be there.

I'm going to do my best, but as things stand now, I'm so broke my cash bounces, and I'm the only one (between me and my girl) that has a job. Since my head gasket is fooked, I'm going to need some money so I can drop the y8 in, and if that happens, I should be able to make it. Also, only if I'm sure I've got enough money for the trip... seems like every time, someone's gotta buy me breakfast, and last time, on the way home, I had to pan-handle for gas money about half-way home LOL.

I'll do my damndest though... I always have alot of fun.

As far as the track goes, I don't really care one way or the other.... I might make a run or two on the track though.

Now as far as distance goes, i'll be driving from olympia (110 miles from my house to jantzen beach mall) how much further from that is kalamath falls, and will that make the longest distance?

Umm Klamath falls is like 30 miles or so from the Oregon/California border. It will be a ways for you coming from Olympia. I'm guessing go south on I-5 and get off on some other highway towards Klamath Falls in Oregon.

And Josh, I'm not afraid of getting lost, but we need more people.

Also, I dont know exactly where 90civicrider lives but if he says its around 21 hours to get to Klamath Falls, that is a hell of a lot further than you have to. I did a rough search on Yahoo Maps from Olympia to Klamath Falls and it said 391.9 miles and approximate time 8 hours 10 minutes. That is averaging about 50mph if you do the math so you should make it even faster.

I'm pretty sure that Jeff (90civicrider) is from Calgary. It usually takes me about 9 hours to get to K-falls... So, from the tri-cities, it'll probably take about 6 or 7. From olympia, probably 6 or 7 also if you take I-5... Takes forever to get through Portland sometimes, then you can bust over to 58 just after Eugene and that'll bring you over to 97 which heads directly south into Klamath Falls.

I'm thinking of getting to spokane in 1 day 11 hours from me. Bunk over night at the Holiday in off the I-90 and finish the trip the following day.

I got like 10 pages of mapquest printouts so wish me luck. haha

Or go to Spokane and then ride with Mike (ci5ic) down to the tri-cities where you would then meet up with me and Josh (91lxdreamer) and we could have 4 cars rollin down there...2 hatch's and 2 sedan's.
