02 Explorer Suspension Squeaky

Sometimes when I go over a relatively large bump, I hear a squeaking noise from the suspension. I crawled under to look for grease zerks but couldn't find any. Are the ball joints and suspension pivot points all sealed? My Explorer has only 33000 miles and has been babied since I've owned it. I bought it with 30000 miles.

Any suggestions?

its the stablizer bar bushings, bring it back to ford they know of the problem or you can go to autozone and pick up a pair

The fix is to replace the bushings???? :eek2:

My '96 has 100,000 on it and the front end squeaks when it "bounces" at the bottom of the driveway every morning. (Maybe I can live with it for a while longer.... )

yup replace the bushings... when I first notified ford with that problem the service tech just sprayed some lithium grease on them and it work for a little while.. the second time I brought it in they replaced the bushings and it seems fine now.

The new bushings are an updated Ford part with a different lubricant coating. This fix only affects '02 and newer Explorers, but taking any sway bar bushing apart and slathering it with silicone grease should eliminate that type of squeak.

the thing is that they just sprayed the bushing.. they never took it apart...

I come from a family of ford explorer owners and that seems to be the re-occuring problem with almost all of the 95, 98, 99, 02...
