HELP????stock type 1 tranny wont shift?????

My tranny wont shift out of first gear. I dont know what the problem is. I took off the nosecone and everything looked fine. Can anybody give me information that will help me. Thank you.

Are you saying that you replaced the nosecone, put it back in the car & now it's stuck in first or that is got stuck in first then took off the nosecone? If it got stuck then you took it off & the shift fork rods are all aligned properly for neutral (but it's in first) then I'd say the fork has come loose from the rod. In that case it's time to open up the tranny to fix it. If you put the nosecone on & it's now in first then I'd say you didn't get the nosecone rod into the shift fork rod's slots properly, pusing it into first when you assembled it and now the nosecone rod is unable to pull it back out of first.
