building my new drag car

hey guys im here again and doing another drag car but before i start dumping my money into it i need to know has anyone put a b18c with vortech supercharger in a 91 crx si or even a 92-95 cx hatch?has anyone seen it done or have done it them selfs?i need to know ive already got the motor and its built just needs a shell and supercharger.peace guys tell me what ya know

Vortech is a horrible choice for a drag motor. Boost or a strong N/A build.

no i dont want n/a cuz i wanna be able to go faster then what i have with my old drag car it was turbo and i didnt like it cuz it needed all new gears cuz the first,second gear were just tire spin i had changed the final gear like 4-5 different times.so i want a supercharged car now and that will beat my 9.03 in the 1/4.and i will not use nitrous either i think nos is for pussies

Dude people with 500+ turbocharged AND sprayed Civics struggle to get 11's, and with some sick tuning and more money than god, 10's. A supercharger will get you into the 13's or something.. Then what? Can't really up the boost too much like a turbo. And when you do, say hello to your new friends named torque steer and tire spin, even with drags.

The fastest civic i have seen runs mid 6's and thats because it has 1500 hp. you guys may know of the driver his name is Stephen Papadakis and races for AEM so without some serious cash, boost, sponsorships your not going anywhere fast. but if you do let us know we will be suprised.

Let me field that one, since I have a good buzz on right now. He preferes inferior power production because he doesn't have a clue how either of them work, and has never used either. How do I know, because even a three year old knows that a fuckin' Jackson Racing SC, and a Vortech SC works EXACTLY the same way, they run off of your crank pulley, just different designs, and a turbo is driven of exhaust gas. So by making the statement that a Vortech works like a turbo, even though it has no compressor side, and runs of the pulley, indicates that he doesn't even know how to wipe his own ass, and is regurgating bullshit he heard on the internet, and going by pictures he has seen.

The Vortech and the Jackson are different kinds of superhargers,ones roots the Jackson, and one is Centrifugial, the Vortech, and both are limited in the power they can produce. 9 times outta 10 the turbo is limited by how much the motor can handle.

very true as long at the engine can take it you can keep cranking the boost. and after a certain point the supercharger will poop out.

you can't keep turning up the boost on a turbo because you will start loosing hp. It's called peak effitioncy. superchargers don't poop out they give the same amount of psi through all rpm.
