just got a probe

OK, I was just GIVEN a 1993 four cylender turbocarged five speed probe GT for free. Please tell me the do's and do nots and all the other good stuff. What works and what is weak. I have never even seen under the hood of one so any help would be appericated thanks

Well man, you got it pretty easy...I had a non-turbo V6 and it was faster than turbo probes stock...those modded ones are CRAZY.

But all the people I know with turbo probe, say or have...

-full exhaust, they say no bigger than 2 1/2"
-cold air intake
-then up the boost a couple lb's
-short throw
-and also heard that sway bars do a phenominal!! difference on them small cars.
-tires
-phenolic spacer
-aftermarket air-water intercooler (little pricy though, but WELL worth it)

I don't really know how to answer your other question, what doesn't work, and whats weak...cause like I said I never personally modded them, but I'd be more then happy to find out for you...wish you luck though, they're alright cars. But like I said those turbo probes modded are a HELL of a lot faster then v6 2nd gen probes...essp. when you play with the turbos. :evillol:

Not all V-6 Probes are faster than the turbo 4's. I have a stock turbo probe and I haven't been beat by a V-6 Probe yet. A couple of other things you might want to get are a turbo timer and a blow-off valve.

Not all? All V6's were the same horsepower... But there are minor weight changes through the years which made 94-95 the fastest out of the second gen's. Either the ones I raced can't drive, or I'm a good driver. Or mabye because they're just faster. :smokin:

how fast are you guys talking here...? i mean how fast is fast?

depends if it the ZE engine you have a hard timing pulling on it but you may beable to if it the KLDE v6 you should blow it away, the run about 180 plus moded the old 4 silly turboed you guys are in the wrong forum vome to probe talk

Just read this but i bet not. my V6 generates 210 to 220 hp and get up the 60 in 8.5 sec and 100 in 13 and reaches 140 and stays there, how about yours
