am i messing up my trans???

i have an automatic, A4LD, and i manually switch gears 1-2-D or if im cruising, 1-2-OD. When i switch gears i dont let off of the gas like one would in a strait shift, is this hurting my transmission?

it should be okay as long as you continue to rev as you shift through each "gear." I wouldn't recommend doing that shit fast though.

My friend does it all the time and his automatic is fine.

After a while its gonna cause ur transmission to be retarted. It won't shift as fast its gonna feel like its hesitating.

how long is a while? b/c i plan to put a T5 in it around the end of summer.

BTW the transmission was put in less than a year ago, so it is fairly new.
