My Friend and I replaced the head on his 95 Civic HB with a 1.5 liter. We put the timing belt back on in the same position. The car will not start. We even tried advancing a couple of teeth forward and back. Still wont run. What do I do?

Do the electronics on the car still work and there is no spark, or do you hear the engine trying to start but it does not?

I do have spark. It sounds like it wants to start and did but died a few seconds later. It hasnt started since. Thats when we advanced the timing in both directions to see if that would help

Was the cam gear aligned properly when you slipped the belt back on?

In my own past experiances the crank and cam gears have to be damb near perfect...after you put the belt on did you rotate the engine one complete circle and check your marks again? make sure all your marks are correct and your not half a turn out on your cams...you can also take your distributer cap off to verify your on TDC with the cam...good luck
