Can anyone tell me how to remove the rear deck of my 2000 Civic Sedan? I am installing some 4-way 6 X 9's. Can I just cut the plug to my old speaker and wrap/ tape it to the new speakers connectors?

Ok, I know i've explained this more than once, but here it goes again.
To remove the rear deck do the following:
1. Remove the child seat belt lock things, the tops of them pop off, and then unbolt.
2. Take off the circle trim piece that goes around the key hole to lower the seats.
3. Take the brake light bulb out
4. Lower the seats, and hunt down all of the clips that hold down the deck, there are a decent number of them, and they are the kind that you need to squeeze the end, and push it up (you'll know what I mean when you try it)
5. the deck pulls up, and twords the front seats, and you will have it out.
I think I didn't leave anything out.
As for connecting the speakers, yes, you will most likely need to remove the Honda connector. I personally would recomment using a Butt-connector (wire goes in each end, and you crimp it) to connect the wires, or at least a wire-nut, and then tape them.

Thanks. I couldn't find this by searching the forum. I only found info on the coupe. Great advice. Much appreciated.
