It's not the size of the engine, it's the size of the wheelie you pull off the line

tacoma what mods? only reason I ask is because 225hp is the TPI rating and not the TBI rating. 225hp would be picking up 55hp. So I am curious on this. Not doubting you just asking man.

you know really it is kind of crappy that a new 3.8
camaro has 200-215 horse power, right around what
we are running with 305's and 350's from the
previous generation

LG4's were 140-155hp
LO3's were 170hp

Only LB9 and L69 were above or at 190hp
And only 5 spd LB9's were 225hp.

yeah try racing the new age stock cars with around that hp on the highway or track, wow u do good on a straight drag line go vs a new z06, or anything around that, and your gone

I think I remember him posting that he beat a Zo6 with a supercharger.Hard to believe, yes. But,a 3.8 with 27psi boost, race gas,and a few other mods will smoke several of the newer generation Camaros,Mustangs, ect. I'm not a big fan of the 3.8.But, if it's modded right, it could be a contender with quite a few cars.Hell, come to think of it.27 psi, even without race gas or slicks, could do some serious damage.

I know I will be corrected if i am wrong, but im pretty sure Grand Nationals are one of the fastest stock 6 cylinders EVER. I think from the show room floor the cars were good for Mid to low 13s. With that being said, Hypsi has obviously done some mods to his car and I highly doubt he is lieing about the cars he has beat. Just my :2cents:

93-95 LT1 was rated at 275hp, 325ft-lbs (Single cat)
96-97 LT1 was rated at 285hp, 325ft-lbs (dual higher flow cats)

You have to listen a bit to HyPSI87, with the right Modifications a GN can go very fast and make gobs of power. they were rated stock with 235hp and 330ft-lbs (GNX was 276hp and 360ft-lbs) and were reported to run upper 13's. This was stock in the 80's out of a 6pack! There are plenty of Turbo Buicks today that run 10's and are street legal.

lol, well yeah, i agree hypsi aint a lier, and in a strait line that car is friggin recockulous, but i think what he was sayin is tht it isnt well rounded, that it aint a handler, at least not of the caliber of the F and Y bodies. thats all, he aint callin hypsi out or nothin.

Well GM said 245 but GM seems to have some unwritten rule that nothing shall sound faster than a vette. The vettes of that year was rated higher but could not hold a candle to the GN. I have seen completly stock (not even a chip) lowmileage GN's dyno out 290 HP. They would run usually a 13.8-14.0 qtr mile. The GNX is crazy, now I know this is a freak story but their was a magazine that squeezed every thing that they could out of a GNX. It was like a like a 27 degree day ( great for the turbo and intercooler) They also torched the track to make it warm for the tires. they got a high 11 sec pass out of it. with just slicks.

I realize my car is not a corner car and I could argue that I could set it up to handle but, in reality, how many road course tracks are there compared to dragstrips? If I hade a corner car, where could I realisticy and legaly use it? Merging on to the interstate? After you have a 11 sec car, corners are obsolete.

From what I hear they still underrate many of the Camaros and Mustangs today. The SS, I've heard has anywhere from 325-340 horses.I know if I'm wrong I'll be corrected. The Mach 1 says it has 305 horses. But they say it's very underrated.
