whats up! well my CEL came on and it gave me a code 65 which is a problem with the secondary O2 sensor. so i changed it with a used O2 sensor but it wasnt a secondary O2 sensor. i replaced it with a Primary O2 sensor that i had. I had to modify the wires a bit by cutting them a little. So i cleared my CEL by pull n the 7.5 AMP back up fuse and the CEL didnt come on for a few days. then today it came on again. it gave me a code 63 which is a slow response from the secondary O2 sensor.

i just wanna know if the primary and secondary O2 sensors are the same besides the length of the wires.
Thanks

No I don't think they are the same, the primary is heated and I think the secondary is not, but don't hold me to it. Does the secondary have 2 or 4 wires? Also I would imagine that the secondary would be setup to detect something that the primary is missing and thus they would have to be different, otherwise what is the need for a secondary?

nah, the secondary is also a 4 wire heated sensor. i just went to Pep Boys and baught a BOSCH universal seconday O2 sensor. i installed it already, reset the ECU and no more CEL. You have to wire up the bosch O2 sensor urself. i think i did it right so im just hope n that i dont see another CEL later on cuz i wired it up wrong! lol. but i doubt it. im good at wiring up stuff... well i have to be cuz im study n electrical engineering.
thanks whtteg for the info
