I have a 1999 Dakota Sport. I has factory installed fog lights, but they no longer work. I've replaced the bulbs, checked the voltage at the light connectors, the relays, even the switch itself. I checked the grounds and all connections, and still, no fog lights. Anyone else had this problem?

I have the same problem. All other lights work except the fog lights.
My buddy who is a mechanic told me to replace the switch, which i havent done yet. Did you solve the problem with yours?

The factory fog lights on my 2002 Dakota recently quit working. I haven't trouble shot it other than to verify that the lamps are good, but I think I know what's going on.
I used to drive a 96 Intrepid that had the exact same headlight switch, and this intrepid had the exact same thing happen. I replaced the switch and the fog lights then worked until the day I sold it.
So I suspect that they simply don't have a very robust switch there. I'm thinking of just putting another switch on the dashboard to control the fog lights independently.

Probably too late for this, but I had the same problem and was able to fix it. On my switch the metal contact had broken off. I took a very small drill bit and a tiny screw and screwed it back on. The screw was from my remote control car.
It has been working for about 2 years now. Im too cheap to buy a new switch.

i'm not sure, but could be a short from the bright light and fog light sensor.. the one that kills the fogs when you hit the brights

Jreed3 was right...fixed mine yesterday. If you take the switch apart, becareful so you don't lose the tiny springs and contacts(look like little dumbells). There is a tiny contact in an S-shape that came off. I was able to put it back on the white plastic post(you'll see when you have it apart). the S-shape metal contact has two tiny holes in the center that fit on tiny post on end of white plastic post. I then melted the end to keep it on. Heat the end of flat screwdriver to accomplish that. Beats buying new switch, didn't price one but looked more expensive than fixing.
