Im damb sure it wont fit and it would be way to heavy for the car,i have heard of guys putting them in 3rd gen(88-91) and stilling haveing lots of problems, weight, hight of engine, electircal problems.etc) if you really want that engine just buy 5th gen lude or get a engine and put it in a 3rd gen... but i would think by the time you done you would have spent close to the amount of a 4th gen..you might wanna try getting a 3rd gen lude, thairs not a lot of things you can do to a 2nd gen lude for engine and after market, 3rd gen and up is your best bet...good luck

The second generation community isn't as large as the third; which in of itself is in small commodity. But seeing as though the 2nd gen is structurally very similar to the 3rd gen, I would say it fits and can be done. It's not easy, and not recommended, since you are not looking to do alot of work or spend alot of money to make it work. Look to another option for performance.

then how about a b16 even though the thing is smaller would it fit and create more power

It's not going to be bolt on, and you'll need new engine mounts.

like AcesHigh said it not going to bolt right in but it better then the h22, better chance to makeing that work then a h22 and most likely easyer.
