Right now, I'm looking at a '96 Civic EX 2dr. Coupe. It has a sunroof, AT, power locks, windows, radio/cassette, has 77,000 miles on it, black exterior, never seen snow or salt, florida car, "runs like new", new tires, new battery. How much do you believe this car is worth and would it be a good beginner's car (1st car to be exact)? I've only heard good things about Hondas and their reliability, and I'm wondering if this trim has the same reliability i've heard about.

Yes that is my favorite civic besides SI but IMO not worth the money. They are very reliable and will last you a long time. That would be a good begginner car until you are no longer a begginner. If you are into modding then you will probably get sick of the AT and wish you got a manual. I did. AT is for some people but a lot dont bother because manuals are funner. And to answer another question, you could probably get one for 5-6.5k kind of a rough estimate but the range varies. Good luck with what ever you get.

I have a 96 SR Vtec 2dr Coupe with M/T. I think it's exactly the same as the EX but the European version. Done 60,000 miles. Best car I've ever had and I'm looking forward to spending some money on it with mods.

Well, he said he'd take 6.5k for the car, it's dark green, and I'm not really into racing that much, so I would just want a car to get me by.

Just check out this site to get an idea of how much the car is worth: www.kbb.com

UPDATE ON MY SITUATION: OK, that deal with the car previously didn't go through (wanted $7,000 for it, when it was only worth about $6,255).

Now, I'm looking at this '98 Honda Civic EX, black exterior, gray stock interior, racing seats, Jackson supercharger, cold air intake, Greddy exhaust. Here's the situation on the engine: He had the supercharger put on, and it wasn't on right or something and it blew a piston, so he got another engine (not sure what kind) that had 15k miles on it, and he put 5k on it, so it has a total of 20k miles on it. He wants $8k OBO, but I don't know if I should go with the deal because of the aftermarkets and the previously blew piston on the previously installed engine; in your opinion, if everything looks ok, should I go for the deal?

Thanks for the 411.
