I didnt see this problems listed in other thread, need a little help.
the wipers only work when you mist the windshield and sweep the appropriate amount of times but none of the other settings ( int, 1 or 2) work at all until you return the switch to the off position and then they only sweep across the windshield once, any suggestions? thanks

I had that happen on my (other) 93 Accord, but it was worse when the weather was cold. If I left the (non-working) wipers switched on, then eventually they would start up and be ok until the next day!
I assumed it was probably one of the computers, but I decided to just put up with it. You might try leaving yours on (in my case they started up after about 10 minutes).

The problem you are having is the wiper switch itself. The contacts are not making good connections. Replace the switch and your problem will be solved.

thanks to both of you for the information, i thought it might have to be in the switch and have sinced determined the very precise positioning of the switch, the wipers turn on but they just dont keep good contact. i dont think this would be a hard fix but if anyone has any details on how to replace it, I would love to hear it. I have always been told not to mess around the steering column of a vehicle with airbags but would like to fix it myself...thanks to all for the input.

Hmmm... my wipers are making me mad on my 96 LX. It's like they get "over-excited" when it's raining and forget to stop before the hood. They slam into the hood on return and then continue back across the windshield like normal. Making a VERY loud clack noise upon impact on the hood. They work fine when it's not raining or not moist out. Any ideas?
