1990 ls idle

i just got a 1990 4dr ls. the car was hit on the right front front but an easy fix. it has 63000k on it. cars runs great but if stopped at red light car will shake, if i put it in neutral shake goes away. i changed the plugs and cap and ran some injector cleaner through the system. if anyone has any ideas i would like to hear from you! THANKS

What is it idling at? Maybe your idle is too low??

the idle is at 750, which is whats reccomended. when i put it in nuetral the rpms don't change but the shake goes away. i'm thinking maybe it's the tranny.

When my car Idles at 750 it shakes. I just bumped the idle up to 1,000. It seems like it takes off better that way too.

try sea foam. you can get it at napa parts stores. you put 1/3 the bottle into the brake booster line, 1/3 into the gas tank and 1/3 into the crankcase (where oil goes). it smooths out idle and boosts performance.

how do i step up the idle?

There are a couple of ways you can do it. There is a Idle screw? (I don't remember what it is called) it takes a flat head screwdriver, it is located right above where the intake pipe hooks on, on the throttle body. if you turn it counter clockwise it will increase the idle. Clockwise will decrease the idle. Or you can bump up the idle by messing with the throttle cable. I would try the screw first.

do you know what seafoam is?

I have never heard of it. Although I am a little curious now. I might check it out sometime.
