I am installing a keyless entry system in the a 95 K1500 Desiel 4x4.
I need to know which setup to run, negitive triggered actuatrs or positive triggered actuators????
I already have the power door locks (Truck came with them) but this alarm setup doesn't tell me what wire to hook up to for chevy trucks.
Thanks for all the help.

it depends on if your truck had factory keyless entry. if it had factory keyless you can just tap into the lt blue(lock) &white(unlock) wires with a positive 12V. if it didn't have keyless you have reversing polarity door locks and you'll need to cut the lock and unlock wires in half and use 2 relays(one to lock and one to unlock) unless your alarm has relays built in.
hope this helps

He's right on the money! You have to know what you are doing if you have to do 5-wire on the doorlocks(that's what it is called when using 2 relays). If you can find a place that is selling DEI products, you could buy a 451m relay. It is a mini relay with 2 micro relays inside. It has a detailed instruction sheet to tell you how to do everything you need.

your door lock switch is ground trigger so find the wires to driver switch and hook them up

Sorry but please research things before you state it as fact. If you hook up doorlocks as you described you'll be wasting time. Thankfully it won't cause any harm just wasting time. Here's the exact info in order to do keyless entry on a 1995 full size chevy/gmc pick up....

Power lock is lt. blue/ power unlock is white located in either door boot. 5 wire on the two door models, and positive trigger on the four door and keyless entry models.

Factory keyless is a positive trigger, if there is no factory installed, then it is a negative trigger. If I read correctly, probuilder, is installing a keyless entry system, there is not a factory one already installed. If he already has a factory installed, then why would he want to install a keyless entry system. So this means that it must be a negative trigger. I forgive you ponochonutty.

Well, I guess we can both be wrong here. He didn't state if he bought the truck new so it could have OEM keyless. Also, they never stated if it was a 2 door or 4 door version so it could easily be either way. Sorry :icon16:

thanks everyone. It is a 2 door model and no factory keyless entry setup.

So how'd you do it ? I have a 97 c1500 trying to set up a keyless, door locks that rest 0 volts and jumps to 12 when locked\unlocked not sure how to wire alarm wires. I'm a little lost.

You are replying to a thread that is over 19 years old. OP hasn't been on here in over 18 years. I doubt you are going to get a response.
