who have you raced and beat?

hey im looking for stories from anyone who can brag about who they raced and beat in their zx2 so let me know. ive raced quite a few people in my '03 zx2 and ive beat my brothers '93 civic si, a protege5, an eclipse GS, an eclipse RS, an '03 lancer (w/ air bags which was cool as hell), a 240sx, a GT probe, and a mazda mx6 LE V6, and last but not least, my friends '99 civic si (when it was stock, i can't beat it now. he supercharged it that bastard). but thats just my wins, ive lost many more than ive won. anyways post up and tell me what kinda races you've won.

just so you know those 99-00 Si's are a good .4 faster then you so dont get cocky for beating 1, same w/ 5psd probe GT's. if the ciic guy could drive he should have gotten, you so while he may fave a aster car just think, he needed a SC to make up for his bad driving

hey man i never said my car was faster, i just said i raced him and beat him. everyone knows it aint the car its the driver that makes all the difference in the world. of course a fast car helps a little. also i said that i beat him before the supercharger was installed, i never said my car was stock. and im glad you are so intuitive about how good of drivers my friends are.

something i forgot to mention to is that to beat a civic si w/ the DOHC alll you have to do is make your car faster in first gear which means making your tires stick and putting as much money into upgrades having to do w/ torque and launches as possible. everyone knows that civics have the worst wheel hop in its class.

umm i believe all Si's are DOHC, adn teh vtech on then has a mean TQ cure that is why then run so well with their weight and low tq

no they made a 1.6 SOHC and put it in the '93-'95 civic si. my brother has one.

yeah wasnt sure of pre-99 si's

but keep in mind that they aren't that fast. if you have one that is put together well then they can be but ultimately the DOHC is quite a bit better in all respects. when my zx2 was stock i could beat his newly rebuilt SOHC. they also put that same engine in an integra type r in '92 which was the first vtech engine installed in a production car. the integra motor was alot faster then the civic one because of that fact the those integras were so light and since they were a limited production car they did some really cool shit to 'em before they put em on the streets.

well maybe for honda, but vtech(well early versions of it) has be around for years, honda just made it popular

ya, i know toyota's version of it has been around for a bit longer than honda's. the gt-s celica is a good example. those things are fucking fast.

the zx2 easy boards? yeha they used to be the zx2.com boards till the host fucked over Jim and he made Teamzx2.com, then they guy that took control over zx2.com tried to sell it to us for like 5K we just flamed him off the site. no ones really post there anymore, all the origninal guys are on teamzx2.com now :) mostly no one on ez board is a member over 2-3 yrs

oh, well i could tell you knew your shit so i also knew that you were on one side or the other. im new to all these forums so i have no idea what people are talking about when they mention all that stuff. im just lookin for a good place to talk to people about their cars. ill check out teamzx2.com though.

ZX2 is an average sports coupe , average performance average comfort but superior handling to most fwd coupes. It was something when the zx2 came out but the svt focus came out and was race ready like the suspension , tranny and a mod ready N/A engine oh dont forget the 17'' alloys.
What I am curious about is ,,,,, was there a svt version of the ZX2? I love zx2's , here in canada we havent got brand new ones anymore and figured you folks in the states could help educate me on a svt escort of the zx2 body. Thanks in advance.

there is only 1 picture of teh SVT zx2 prototype, it was never produced, but it was to be 180HP turbo i4 with a race suspention and bigger breaks

Cool , but svt isnt turbo tuned its natural aspirated 16 valvers for 4cylinders. I could be very wrong though , got a link?

no that came out WAY after the svt proto. if they had ford backing it wouldnt be such a peice of crap

I have an 00' ZX2 and I have beaten a Honda CRX, Acura Intergra, Nissan Sentra XE, Honda Civic. Thats it so far, I just got my car in April, it has 35,000 miles on it. The only thing that I have did was put in a Fram Airhog Airfilter.
