Hey I was thinking about buying a Euro Hood Scoop for the Supra...But the question that I have with all hood scoops is, What if it rained or snowed..wouldn't the water n stuff go into the hood and damage engine parts?

i used to think the same way, what if it rained? i asked a neighbor of my friend and he said that it would be okay, well he drives a 94 accord and the rain wouuld just drop over his headers. where are u planning to put the hood scoop? in the regular middle ish above the engine part right? i seen people spray water in the engine compartments and nothing happened. i don't think anything would happen, becaues alot of people do it.

As long as you don't put it over the turbo or the head you'll be in good shape. Personally I think a "euro scoop" or front facing is a waste of money for what it's supposed to do, get a reverse vent or simply have a hole cut into the hood with mesh on the back side to keep crap out, a reverse vent will let out much more heat, it will be much more aerodynamic and won't cram more air into the engine bay which will end up going under the car, bad. Don't put a scoop or vent over or in front of the turbo, imadgine lots of cold rain hitting a hot turbo exhaust housing, crack. Having one over the head will make water pool in the head valley between the cylinders.

Ohhhhh I see.....Thanks for the input...I'll probably just get a TRD style carbon fiber hood
