I'm affraid that both of thoes cars are SLR's, its just the one that you have called the SLA is the concept version, and the SLR is the production version. Beutiful car though, and the SLR is miles better than the SLA

The SLR got uglier and uglier as it progressed towards the finished article. The addition of that fat boot (to accomodate two golf bags ) did absolutely nothing for the car's profile. Therefore i choose the concept version.

I'm sorry, but that is not an Ugly car. And the reason that it has a chunkier boot is to accomodate the air brake that sits on top. After looking at the SLR, i seriously doubt that I would get my two golf bags in the boot.
The whole idea of a concept car is that you iron out the faults, and as the laws of safety etc are so restraining, then it isn't always possible to replicate the concept car. In my oppinion, the only car more beutiful than that, is astons DB9...

Sorry, but the reason for the fat boot is that Mercedes wanted the owners to be able to take two golf bags to the club. That's documented ;)

not only that, but they failed! I play golf, and I mite get one bag in there, but definatly not 2. I have managed 3 in the boot of my SL, but only with the roof up.
Suppose its just a different oppinion. I love the SLR in its entirety.just not the price! haha. My SL65 performes beyond the linits of my driver capabilities, and is plent fast enough on normal roads. An SLR would be nice for the collection however. Would need to sell a '56 300SL for that and for me, the Gullwing looks just as good, and has more character.
What do you think to the original SLR. Nicer than the new one or not?

They are here:

Perhaps you can help me to get the pics of the Gullwing and Pagoda on there. They were taken with a better camera, and are much bigger. Which means that I can't upload them into my gallary. I have also got a photo of my old S class after I smashed it up. Just not 100% sure how to get it on there...

I agree. Except I wouldn't choose either. Frankly, both are ugly. At that price, I'd buy a Ferrari F430.

According to my friend, SLA is not that good. A lot of spare parts get broke easily.

If SLA is a concept car then it should not be compared with the SLR. Because SLR is the realistic car that runs on road and SLA is for research that will come in future.
