go cobra you cant beet independent rear and you NEVER get a year 1 car thats the first rule of car buying for people who know. the new GT mustang is sayd to come with 375 390 hp but then again its the first time the mustang will be on its own independent frame...

Ok so now I'm toying with the possibility of getting an 03 Mach 1. Through the dealer I can get it sent from Atlanta, here, for just over $23,000. Its brand new, black exterior/charcoal interior. Any opinions now?

I dont remember but does the mach one have independint rear suspention? this is a large key factor. any sort of racing street or track is better to have an indep. rear. and the cobra will probly have a higher resale value than any other mustang. I would go with the cobra even tho it has miles on it alredy you hafto baby a car till it has around 3 or 5 thowsand miles till you can open it up the cobras alredy past that. I would go for the cobra bc some time down the road you are probly going to want to try and autocross it (so much fun) and the cobra has a better bite for your buck. you can take the extra 3 grand and find a lot of parts that will get you over 400 hp. make shour bc its used to get a micanic to look over everything make shour it wasint in a reck or anything like that... have fun...

yeah all the 04 stangs have an indepentdent rear or so the ford website tells me, but im pretty sure the mach 1 has irs. The onyl reason i want a new car is cuz i can get such a killer deal on it and that way i know no one but me has beaten the crap out of it, not only that but a new mach one for 23000 come on thats a hell of a deal period

i dont think that the mach one has IRS. if anything see if you can get a testdrive overnight for any of the cars. I hafto admit i like the new mustangs to but not the idea of getting a first year on a new frame that only the mustang will have. all 40 years before this the mustang has shared the frame of another car so i would be a bit hesatent.

"get a brand new gt fully loaded gt for like 23"
"03 Mach 1. Through the dealer I can get it sent from Atlanta, here, for just over $23,000. "

For that price take the Mach1. The Cobra has probably been beat on.
The Mach instead of the GT also, as the Mach has the 4V engine, more HP and more potential (IMHO)

"you NEVER get a year 1 car thats the first rule of car buying for people who know. the new GT mustang is sayd to come with 375 390 hp but then again its the first time the mustang will be on its own independent frame..." "the idea of getting a first year on a new frame that only the mustang will have. all 40 years before this the mustang has shared the frame of another car so i would be a bit hesatent." .......this is all about the 2005....the guys lookin' at 2004's! and the new 2005 GT will come with around 300HP. 390HP is what the current (2004) Cobra is 'underrated' at.

No kidding!

Mach 1 has a solid rear axle. I seriously doubt that the IRS of the Cobra is anything to brag about. Why do you think a lot of the 03 Cobra guys are swapping to solid rears? The IRS will be toast after a while of abuse! The 05 Mustang will have 305 hp, not 375, not 390. And a brand new Mach 1 for 23k? Where's this at, I'll take 2 at that price!

Samurai, please do a little research before you post untrue or facts that you have no knowledge of.
