camaro -97 doesnt start

Hey out there
Hope somebody can help me out here, my problem is that my -97 camaro convertible 3.8l v6 doesnt start, when i turn the ignition key around nothing happens and i mean nothing, the gauges on the dashboard is just black, they dont even light up when the ignition is on, and when i turn the key to start the car, nothing happens, the starter doesnt move at all. i hope that somebody can help me out, or at least give me a hint what the problem can be.

have you checked your ignition fuses???? also, check your positive battery cable, is it corroded at all?? also make sure it is tight. i had a similar problem in my IROC a little while back, turns out battery acid got into the positive battery cable and actually burned it up, so it made intermittant contact. sounds like you just arent getting power to your ignition switch.

Yeah if the cable is loose, the battery will die and there will be no contact so make sure the cables are tight. Oh and yeah if its corroded, gotta fix that. hmm... thats all i can think of from the top of my head.. haha i pretty much repeated what was already there before :grinno:
