Rims for my new R34

Sequentials
04-19-2004, 03:30 PM
Hello to all,
I need a bit of help. I purchased a Skyline R34 from Motorex two weeks ago with money have been saving up. I have just enough left over for rims and paint. It is in the process of being painted Oriental Blue (sorta like a navy blue but better). I have my mind made up on what rims I want but not sure of the color. The rims are Racing Hart Evolution J8 Pro, the gold pair thats on the white skyline on the cover of Sport Compact. The question is, what color would go well with oriental blue. Gold, Silver, or Graphite? Sorry for the long explanation but wanted to be a bit specific. Any opinions or input is gladly appreciated. Thanx...

man i would have to say that decision is totally up to you. It is YOUR car but i know what ur going through...wheel shopping is a bitch!!!! But as far as my opinion i currently am in this gold/bronze phase for some reason. But the decision is entirely yours.

Any of those wheel colors should match up okay with the car color you have.

The Silver is a bit more mainstream, and it goes with just about anything.

Gold will work as long as you don't mind looking a bit like an STi's big brother, since blue car/gold wheels is a very popular combination with Subarus.

I'm partial to graphite, because I've wanted that for my car...which is black. I don't know what to tell you with a blue car. I've seen a few blue cars with graphite wheels, and I thought they looked fine.

I also can't help but wonder how you managed to get an R34 as well, but this isn't the place for that, and I don't want to get off-topic.

These wheels are waiting to go on my R34:

They are Volks CE28N's (19X10.5)
I ordered bronze, but they look more like gold!
I can put a pic up soon with them on on a dummy fit when I am going to see my car (in the process of an engine rebuild).

What colour is oriental blue? Can you show an example of it (even on another car)?

A friend has a bayside R34 with bronze LMGT4's - looks fantastic. I have bronze TE37s on mine - but is purple. Bronze wheels look great on most colours :)

Oh R34 GTR - Nice. Those Rays kiddies sure make nice rims :)

This is interesting since last I head the R34 couldn't be complied.

Here's a pic so far of the rebuild, wheel was fitted to see if the offset were correct. But still awhile before completion!

Don't worry, the rear discs will be painted! :iceslolan

That's a nice color combo. It's cool to see it on something other than a Subaru.hehe

as of right now, i'm calling BS on both of you who claim to have r34's.

r34_gtr, where do you live?
sequentials:
motorex hasn't had an r34 for quite a while, especially not lately, since they can't legalize them.

and i don't think they just had one "sitting on the lot"...
or maybe they did...

so both of you, tell us...

one more thing, neither of you have ANY info filled out in your profiles. no zip codes, no nothing.
sequential, yours says you've got a 97 civic.

do you guys have any info to prove that you're not lying?

sequentials has a rhd civic, huh?
and you refuse to drive the skyline in its present state...

i'm quite curious...
more information?

What makes you say I'm BS? What if you are wrong? Will you swallow your words if I prove you wrong? I see a public apology of some sort is in order....

OK, what proof do you want? The receipt of the purchase of the car from the dealer, pics?

i think you're lying.
if you're not, you're not.

how lame is what?
you're a newbie, with no cred on this forum, so why should i believe you?
maybe pics of you in front of the car, with a sign that says "for flylwsi and AF.com"
then i'd believe you...
not to be overly skeptical, but this happens all the time...
and alot of people get mad pwn3d.

you won't get an apology from me.
there's no need for one.
b/c i called you out, if you prove yourself, you get respect. if you don't, you aren't losing anything, b/c i don't have any yet... ;)

If you look at the surface of the table in the 1st and last pic, you will see they are the same. So that should proof something.

SkylineUSA knows me and we have met each other on 2 occassions at dyno days. Ask him and see what he says.

need more proof?
honestly, there's nothing in what you've shown.
especially since you've not shown anything other than what i could find online if i tried hard enough.
if skylineusa HAS met you and knows you, i'd let it go...

my interest is more in the thread starter, who has been silent... with his 2 rhd cars...

Hard enough? So its no problem finding a Skyline Manual, Service book and a Brochure on the net? I look forward to see what you can find then....

Anyway, ask SkylineUSA or get him put a reply on this thread and see what he has to say if you believe him.

My car is still being rebuilt so I can't get any pics yet until I down to have a look next time. So till then..........

Hey R34 GTR, do you go by "DCD" on other boards? I've seen a Bayside Blue R34 owner by the same name, with a similar avatar at Freshalloy and the UK GT-R boards. Just wondered if you were him or not.

Vincent,

Do you want me to post some pics of your car as well :evillol:

If I post them, then will you believe him, flyski?

Yes, he has one of the best looking R34s I have ever seen. I am not just saying that, it is that nice :iceslolan

DCD is in Japan, R34 GTR is in England.

Before you guys call BS, try being a little nicer about it. I mean there are the blatent posts that you know the kid is la liar, but Vincent is not even close to not telling the truth. I have seen, touched and taken pictures of his car, so its pretty real.

Take a great big bite of your foot flylwsi, and tell us all what it tastes like.
You do realise that only 7.3% of the worlds population live in the US? and that of the remaining 92.3% a fair number also live in civilised countrys where cars like the Skyline are and were sold both new and used.

WTF is wrong with you people?
how am i supposed to know where he's at if it's not posted?

and for the damn record, i PM'd r34 yesterday, directly after i posted about skylineusa being a good source for belief.
so maybe someone doesn't read their PM's, or wants to try and make an example out of me, but i find it hard to believe that both moppie and skylineusa are jumping on my ass, especially b/c they know that i'm rarely wrong, and find truth in threads that i post in.
and truth was found here.

no apology needed, no biting of my foot.

moppie:
do me a favor.
next time you see someone claiming they've got X car, then you look in their profile and see NO info, tell me that you're not going to be skeptical.

right.

i'm still curious about our buddy sequentials.

but of course, if he miraculously shows proof, i'm just an asshole again, right?
right.

I was just messin with ya, thats all. Its all good.

I have found that in forums you loose the most important thing when communicating, body language, my bad. Let it go, its no biggie.

Iv spent over 4 years hunting out and dealing with all the many sorts of freaks and weirdos who like to visit the internet, Im skeptical of everybody!

But Iv also learned to read into peoples posting styles, not only what they write, but how they write it. I can tell you alot about how mature someone is, and how honest they are being.
I can often tell a BS artist on thier first post, and I can tell someone desperate for attention just as quickly, I can also pick out people who think they know more than they really do, they tend to be very cocky about it and have a tendancy to jump to conclusions.

Oh, and your Credits good with me, just PM me your card number and expiry date :evillol:

I see. Can you teach us some of this lol. :p
Cause I can never tell whos bs'ing and whos not. Lol, me telling one I live in the u.k. and I've been in tons of gtr's and my bro owns one of the fastest in the u.k.--it dont help me much. Plus if they are to ask for proof I wont do them any good on showing it, why waste my time. The only proof we can really get is by WOM(word of mouth), from ppl on forums who know each other personally, this is more than evident in the uk gtr register forums, lol why bro is a mod now there for do-luck. :iceslolan

Why is it that people only call shenanagins on R34 owners and not R33's? I feel downright common for the fact I've never been questioned about my authenticity :(

Still don't know what colour 'oriental blue' is either.

flylwsi
05-17-2004, 12:47 PM
well, first, r33's are legal in the states (through legalization)
r34's aren't, at least not in the last year.
so if he bought it from motorex 2 weeks ago...
do the math...

skyline owners in general (or people who claim to be) get called out, especially with lame posts like this...

you've not done that... ;)
