Buzzing from dash?

Anyone else have a buzzing noise coming from the dash/console area when you accelerate? Doesn't do it when you just rev the motor, you have to be moving. Sounds a bit like a fart muffler on an import, but fairly quiet/muted. I can't seem to find anything loose?

Yeah I've got something like that, started noticing a little while after I got a 3 inch body lift installed. It does sound like a sort of muted buzzing and it comes from low and behind the dash. To me it sort of sounds like the valves cycling. Since everything is working fine mechanically, my current conclusion is that the noise is result of changing the position of the engine relative to the firewall (the body lift does this) which may alter the sound muffling design of this area. That's about all I've been able to come up with.

Have you put a lift on yours by chance?

Nope, bone stock... In driving it a little more and trying to find the damn noise, it seems as though it may be related to a VEEEEERY slight vibration that I feel in the steering wheel. I mean REALLY slight, but if you just barely wrap your fingertips around the wheel and accelerate from a dead stop (that's when you hear the buzzing), there is a vibration that seems to be in sync with the buzz. Perhaps something in the steering shaft or joints?

Well it's interesting that it only does that when accelerating. Perhaps you are driving around in 4wd??? How's your gas mileage these days?

Nope, definitely not that. I engaged 4wd on a dirt road nearby to see if it made any difference in the noise, and unfortunately it doesn't...

i had the same thing, i found it was the passenger dash speaker grill rattling. easy fix.

Check to make sure you have enough power steering fluid. But, make sure you dont poor to much in.

i have 04 2wd tahoe making same buzzing noise. when i push up slightly on the steering wheel it gets better. any suggestions to what it may be???
